Field peas, yay! While some of us are blessed to live where peas like this are abundant, I'm learning about how many of you are not able to affordably source them in your area. To help bridge that gap, I am delighted to offer 2.5#, 5#, 10# and 25# sizes.
These are not certified organic, but contact me and let me know if you want me to add those at a higher price.
Non organic, non GMO field peas are sourced from our local supplier, Kaniksu Feeds, with a guaranteed analysis of:
- Crude Protein (min) 22.0%
- Crude Fat (min) 2.04%
- Crude Fiber (max) 5.20%
Please note: supplies vary so you may see more green or yellow peas, or all one color. Likely to also include garbanzo beans (AKA chickpeas). I buy these in larger quantities and re-bag them to a size that will fit in a flat rate box to make it affordable to ship anywhere in the US. Because this is an agricultural product, there may be a small number of inclusions, such as oat hulls. I have no concerns using these exact peas to feed my dairy herd.
Field peas make up one of the three components to my homemade feed ration, which consists of whole oats, whole barley and peas. You can learn more about the nutritional profile by going to Feedipedia, an excellent resource for anyone wanting to learn the nuts and bolts of the feeds they're feeding.
